The TV anime Akame ga Kill! will begin airing on Tokyo MX on July 6. Coming before this, a new key visual has been released. The visual shows the members of the assassination squad Night Raid, beginning with the young swordsman Tatsumi and the beautiful assassin Akame. It’s a gallant image in which the characters show their determination in the face of a harsh battle.
A new promotional video has also been released along with the new visual. The must-see video contains unique characters left and right and brutal action. A portion of the opening theme “Skyreach” by Sora Amamiya, the voice of Akame, can also be heard in the PV. On the song, Amamiya commented, “This is the first time I am singing under my own name, so because the broadcast is forthcoming I’m really nervous.” She went on to talk about her enthusiasm: “The song matches the atmosphere of Akame ga Kill! and is a really cool rock song! To that end, singing was difficult, but I was able to use all my ability so I hope you enjoy it!!”
On the flipside, singer/songwriter Miku Sawai’s song “Konna Sekai, Shiritakunakatta” has been chosen as the ending theme. Regarding the song, Sawai revealed, “I read the original work and wrote the song in the theme of ‘the loneliness and sadness you don’t even notice, if you don’t love.’” She also conveyed the following message: “I hope you give special attention to the lyrics and listen to it while superimposing it on the characters.”
The singles for both of these theme songs will be released on Aug. 13. The content consists of showy action, of course, as well as a world dyed in music you won’t be able to stop listening to. A screenshot from the opening of the first episode has also been released, and anticipation will rise leading up to the start of the broadcast in less than half a month.
