Broadcast information has been announced for the TV anime adaptation of Tokyo Ghoul to begin airing this summer. The broadcast will begin at 24:00 on July 3 on Tokyo MX. It will also broadcast on TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting, and BS Dlife. BS Dlife is a free satellite channel managed by Broadcast Satellite Disney. By using this, the whole country can tune in.
In addition to the broadcast information, a new main visual and visuals of the characters have also been released. The five new male characters are Kotaro Amon, Kureo Mado, Yoshimura, Hideyoshi Nagachika, and Nishiki Nishio. These characters are pivotal to the dark world of the series.
Furthermore, “Unravel,” the new song by TK from Ling Tosite Sigure has been chosen as the opening theme. This is a solo project by TK, the singer and guitarist of the three-piece band Ling Tosite Sigure. “Unravel” will release as his first solo single on July 23.
Part 2 of the promotional video, which was released along with this new information, is packed full of action scenes. Prepare for the broadcast next month by enjoying this intense PV.
Tokyo Ghoul is a popular manga by Sui Ishida that is currently serialized in Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha). The series has over 4.2 million copies in print. Directing the anime is Shuhei Morita who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film for his work “Possessions” which was included in the omnibus film Short Peace. The cast is filled with popular seiyū that many fans follow including Natsuki Hanae as main character Ken Kanaki and Kana Hanazawa as Sora Amamiya.
